Cailler holds the distinguished honour of being Switzerland's oldest surviving chocolate brand, founded in 1819 by Francois-Louis Cailler in Corsier-sur-Vevey along the shores of Lake Geneva. Its story is inseparable from the birth of Swiss chocolate culture itself. Cailler was among the first to industrialise chocolate production on Swiss soil, building a factory in Broc in the Fribourg Alps that remains in operation to this day. The brand is closely tied to another legendary name in chocolate history: Daniel Peter, Cailler's son-in-law, who in the 1870s collaborated with Henri Nestle to develop the world's first milk chocolate, a discovery that would alter the course of confectionery forever. Now part of the Nestle family, Cailler has preserved its artisanal soul while benefiting from the resources of a global group. The brand is especially celebrated for its beautifully presented gift boxes and praline assortments, which reflect the scenic splendour of the Swiss Alps in both flavour and design.
