Confiserie Sprungli is the jewel of Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse and one of Europe's most treasured independent chocolatiers, founded in 1836 by David Sprungli-Schwarz. While the Sprungli family later divided its chocolate interests, Confiserie Sprungli retained the exclusive right to operate the storied cafe and confectionery shops that have become cultural institutions in Zurich. The house is perhaps best known for the Luxemburgerli, a feather-light sandwich macaron filled with silky buttercream that comes in a rotating selection of exquisite seasonal and classic flavours. These petite confections are a source of civic pride in Zurich and are considered among the finest examples of Swiss patisserie artistry.
